Professional poker player Aaron Kanter of Bodog.net made the final table in Event #36 of the World Series of Poker this weekend, but his race for the Bracelet win still continues. Kanter battled skillfully through a field of 2,447 in the 2008 WSOP $1,500 NL Hold’em event, but came up just short with a 3rd place finish.
Aaron Kanter, or “Gotcha55” as he is known at BodogPoker.net, was on a hot streak coming down to the final table, but found himself short-stacked against a list of dexterous poker players. John Shipley and Owen “ocrowe” Crowe busted out early, giving Kanter a more impressive stack – impressive that he was no longer the short-end at the table, anyways.
Rick Solis, Justin Wald and Doug Middleton were next to hit the rails. Danny Wong took a 4th spot exit, leaving Aaron Kanter, Cody “thugmoneymkr” Slaubaugh and Jesper Hougaard to round out the final three.
That was where Kanter’s luck ran out, however, as he was ousted in 3rd position for a prize of 258,862, leaving Slaubaugh and Hougaard to duke it out in heads-up action. In the end, it was Jesper Hougaard who captured the WSOP Bracelet and 1st place prize of $610,304. Cody Slaubaugh would take home a hefty paycheck of $389,128.
Team Bodog.com Poker’s Aaron Kanter is best known for his 4th place finish at the 2005 WSOP, where he earned a whopping $2 million for his worth abilities. Since then, Aaron has cashed in 5 WSOP events, three this year alone, including his most recent 3rd place cash in 2008 WSOP Event #36.
