This European Roulette Strategy is based on utilizing the Red/Black betting options to gain higher returns. However, there are two things I’d like to point out before going into the details of this European Roulette Strategy.
First, I’ve chosen European Roulette over American Roulette because it offers a lower house edge. American Roulette uses a 0 and 00, where European Roulette uses only one. This increases a players odds from 38 to 38 to 37 to 1.
The second point I’d like to make involves the randomness of a certain number coming up on the European Roulette Wheel. While your odds are 37 to 1 that a particular number will hit, meaning that number will come up once in 37 spins, that does not mean after 5 spins, the odds decrease to 32 to 1. The fact is, the odds are reset at 37 to 1 every time the wheel is spun. In order to decrease, the numbers that hit in the first 5 spins would have to be removed from the wheel for the next 32 spins.
For these reason, any good Roulette Strategy should be based on a European Roulette game using Outside Bets. Placing a wager on a single number will never have good enough odds to be included in a winning European Roulette strategy.
The house will always have an edge over the player in any European Roulette Strategy. There simply isn’t a way to reverse the edge to the player’s favor. However, there are a few ways to give the player a better chance of winning a higher amount when an Outside Bet is won.
The first is the Red/Black European Roulette Strategy. If you examine the table’s betting diagram, you’ll notice that each ‘Row of 12′ numbers has a certain amount of Red and Black. They are not divided evenly, 6 red and 6 black, as they are in the Dozens betting areas (1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3rd 12).
The first row (1-4-7-10-13-16-19-22-25-28-31-34) is divided evenly, 6 black and 6 red. We’ll skip that one. The second row (2-5-8-11-14-17-20-23-26-29-32-35), however, contains 8 Black numbers and only 4 Red. The third row (3-6-9-12-15-18-21-24-27-30-33-36) is the opposite, containing 8 Red and 4 Black. Herein lies the European Roulette Strategy…
If placing a 2:1 wager on the 2nd Row, place an equal wager on Black. A wager on the 3rd Row should include an equal wager on Red.
Let’s say each bet was $1. Should the Row bet win, you now have $3 ($1 wager plus $2 won). You also have 2 in 3 chance (66.66%) of winning the Black bet. Assuming that is won as well, you now have a total of $5 ($2 wagered plus $3 won). Should you win the Row bet but lose the Black bet, you’re still $1 ahead. If you’ve lost the Row bet, you still have a near 50% chance (48.65%) of winning the Black bet, which would bring you to even money.
Of course the same goes for a bet on the 3rd Row, except you would place an equal wager on Red.
There are other European Roulette Strategies that could be applied in the same manner using Inside Bets, but the odds are not nearly as great as with 2nd Row and 3rd Row bets. If you insist on placing Inside Bets, be sure to examine the Red/Black structure of the area you are betting in to determine whether this European Roulette Strategy can be utilized.
