It was another stellar weekend at the world’s largest online poker room as PokerStar.com hosted it’s most lucrative weekly events this weekend. As is the norm at PokerStar, each of its big Sunday tourneys revealed much higher prize pools than originally guaranteed, with the Sunday Million bursting the GP to a whopping $1,717,800.
Starting with the Poker Star $500k Sunday Warm-Up, 3,488 entries boosted the prize pool to $697,600, guaranteeing the top 513 a cut of the money. The final table eventually came down to “eisenhower1” vs. “seberek”. In the end, it was eiesenhower1 taking down the tournament for the first place prize of nearly $100,000. 2nd place was worth $69,760 to seberek.

Next up is the highly anticipated PokerStar Sunday Million, where a field of 8,589 brought the guaranteed prize up to $1,717,800, ensuring the top 1,233 positions their share of the winnings. Aside from last week’s spectacular 2x promotion that double the GP to $2 million, attracting more than 14,000 entries, this is one of the largest fields to enter the PokerStars Sunday Million in quite some time.
As the final table dwindled in numbers, it was up to “SAM66” and Frenchman “Shantaram” to battle it out for top position when “MrMuck1976” was sent to the rails in 3rd. Though Shantaram put up a good fight, it was SAM66 who emerged victorious to claim the 1st place prize of $209,572. Shantaram was awarded the 2nd place prize; a respectable $141,719.

Ending an impressive evening of profitable online poker tournaments at PokerStars came the Sunday Second Chance, worth a GP of $200k. A field of 1,699 converged on the tables to hike the guaranteed prize to nearly double - $339,800. While the top 252 competitors would share in the purse, it was “Taknapotin” who whittled his way through the line-up to take down the tournament, pocketing $57,776 for the skilled victory. Finishing 2nd was “uncledrkmeat” for $43,494.
