Absolute Poker College Challenge Coming to an End

AbsolutePoker.net has been running an online poker competition for some time now and it is about to come to an end. University students have been logging on in droves to compete in the Absolute Poker College Challenge (APCC). The Challenge is twelve week long tournament competitions that will see the winner earn their college tuition paid by AbsolutePoker. The contest has only three weeks left before the lucky winner is crowned.
Students all over the United States are trying to win the tuition as well as poker swag and technical gadgets, though the tuition is top on the player’s wish list. The competition is open only to University students who are playing Texas Hold’em in three major contests.
On May 11th the APCC Main Event will take place and offer $10,000 toward college tuition, a MacBook 160GB, a HP Business Note Book and an iPod Touch 32GB. The winner of the college tuition will have the $10,000 put toward one semester of their college education.
Players will also be automatically entered into the Player of the Year leader board competition where the winner will earn a MacBook and $3500. The current leader on the board is EAZY489 of Carnegie Mellon University.

AbsolutePoker.net also has a School of the Year leader board where players try and get their college to the top spot. This is a bonus competition and the top United States Universities will earn almost $10,000 in prizes.

Titan Poker Player Wins Large Jackpot Prize

Pierpaolo Pica is an online poker player who enjoys playing at Titan Poker. After playing at Titan Poker for one year at the Maui Jackpot Sit N Go Tables, Pica finally hit the jackpot. Pica won five straight $5 plus $1 Maui Jackpot Sit N Go tournaments and then hit the $99,000 Maui Jackpot Prize. This is the largest win Pica has ever earned to date.
The Maui game is a ten player $5 plus $1 jackpot Sit N Go tournament. As players compete, the progressive jackpot grows until one lucky player hits the jackpot. Pica just happened to be that lucky player last week.
Pica commented on his win stating: “This is after almost a year of trying…I thought it was impossible, but it happened! Five consecutive Maui Jackpots in order to pocket $99,000 was really fantastic! All thanks to a big dose of chance and above all to TitanPoker.com … many thanks!”
Pica also added a bit of advice saying that he does not play aggressive and tries to study his competitors during game play. Doyles Room Launches Family Poker Challenge

Yesterday, DoylesRoom announced they are launching special online challenge and they are keeping it in the family. The new event is called $100,000 Beat the Brunson’s Challenge. The Brunson’s will participate in online multi-table no limit Texas Hold’em tournament action and online poker players will be able to participate as well.

The purpose of the challenge is to knock out Brunson family members. Players will receive cash prizes for knocking out the different family members as well as each regular player they manage to eliminate. The amazing thing is that if a player can manage to knock out an all the Brunson family members that person will receive a $100,000 reward for their accomplishment.

The buy-in for the challenge is only $11 and players will compete in the multi-table eliminations with Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, daughter Pamela Brunson, Daughter in law Anjela Brunson and Doyle’s nephew Ken. Players can also qualify for the main event by playing in daily sit & gos or heads up satellites. These qualifiers go for as little as $1.21.

March 30th is when the challenge begins and it is sure to be a great opportunity for online players. Imagine that you are able to knock out the best of the best in poker as well as the rest of his family. What an accomplishment!
