Steven “UFman2” Burckholder of Florida is $135,904 richer today after routing a field of nearly 4,000 online poker players at the Full Tilt Poker $750,000 Guarantee last Sunday. At only 21 years of age, UFman2 displayed his impeccable skills, claiming an outright victory over the competition.
At 6:00pm ET, FullTilt hosted 3,838 entrants in the Sunday $750k GTD. The high rate of participation boosted the $750k GP by several thousand for a total prize pool of $767,600. It took nine hours to reveal an ultimate winner, and the final table couldn’t have been more encouraging for “UFman2”.
The final table of nine slowly dwindled, one by one falling to the way side as UFman2 mowed a clear path to victory. “blizair” fell in 4th position, earning $42,372 and leaving behind the final 3 participants. The next to join the sidelines was “yan09”, taking a 3rd place cash of $53,732.
The heads-up battle immediately commenced between UFman2 and Antoshka, a 29 year old online poker player from New York, New York. Both gentlemen have earned at least two 1st place finishes in online poker tournaments this year, both at FullTiltPoker.com and PokerStars. With such esteemed poker skills setting across the table from one another, it come down to the fall of the cards, the luck of draw as they say, to determine the 1st place winner.
Those cards did fall, inevitably in the favor of UFman2, who ousted Antoshka with ease, claiming the 1st place prize of $135,903.58. Antoshka reaped the rewards of 2nd place, earning $82,133.20.

FullTilt Poker.com hosted its weekly $750,000 Guarantee online poker tournament last Sunday, drawing a lot of well-knowns to the virtual tables to battle it out for the top prize of about $132k. In the end, it was “Steveee111” routing the field to claim the hefty purse.
The action got underway at 6:00 pm ET at FullTilt Poker as 3,225 players coughed up the $200+$16 buy-in, or won a seat via satellite entry, to converge on the $750k guaranteed tournament tables. A few more entries would have avoided the overlay, but Full Tilt.com was forced to toss in an addition $105k to cover the guaranteed prize pool.
As the play dwindled down to the final table, one notable online poker player to remain seated was “dubbeemin”, crowned the victor of FTOPS IX only a few weeks ago. Brian “dubbeemin” Mintz won the ninth Full Tilt Online Poker Series Main event for a whopping $432,400, then, this weekend, finished 5th in the $750k GTD for $31,050.
Soon to follow were “grabskia” in 4th and “Flip This Cup” in third, leaving “oldschool043” and “Steveee111” to campaign for 1st in heads-up play. Steveee111 would eventually outlast his opponent, pocketing $132,788 for the 1st place victory. $80,250 went to oldschool043 for the 2nd place finish.
Poker player “oldschool043” is certainly not new to the online poker tournament arena. Just two months ago, oldschool043 earned a 3rd place finish in a PokerStars online poker tournament, worth $7,318. Going further back to January of 2008, the same player was awarded $13,500 for a 1st place win on PokerStars.

BodogPoker hosted its regular $100,000 Guarantee last Sunday, attracting a field of 656 players who satellite their way in or paid the direct $100 + $9 buy-in. Marshall “Balla686” Trauernicht proved his skills that night by routing the competition to earn his largest online poker tournament cash to date of $23,600.
As the action dwindled to the final table, then further into heads-up play, it came down to the obvious skills of “Balla686” and “splisner” to battle it out for the top position. It didn’t take long for the cards to fall in Marshall “Balla686” Trauernicht’s favor, sending “spilsner” to the rails to claim the 1st place prize.
From the comfort of his computer in Springfield, Massachusetts, Marshall “Balla686” Trauernicht has pocketed a multitude of online poker tournament cashes, many in the 4-digit range and most at Bodog Poker, though this most recent victory is largest by far.
BodogPoker.com Sunday $100k Guarantee Final Table Results
1st - Balla686 ($23,600)
2nd - spilsner ($13,600)
3rd - syzygy3732 ($9,100)
4th - soggyvag2 ($7,000)
5th - Ugotdonedirty ($5,700)
6th - TimKansas ($4,500)
7th - TripleNet ($3,300)
8th - Hapa Haoli ($2,200)
9th - PwnasaurusX ($1,300)
It’s pretty easy math to figure out that the field of 656, at a $100 buy-in, only brought in $65,600 of the guaranteed prize pool, resulting in an overlay that forced BodogPoker to toss in the remaining $34,400 to cover the purse. BodogPoker has launched several promotional campaigns to bolster its poker tournament popularity - including a recent $250k GP to replace its regular weekly $100k, and the upcoming BodogPoker Open II in October 2008 - but the online poker room continues to struggle in the participation department.
