PokerStars.com has announced it will be hosting an All Star Week from March 23-29, where members Team PokerStars Pros will take on the PokerStars All Star Team in heads-up battles worth $1k per match. Anyone can claim a spot on the All Star Team, so long as their skills prove them worthy on the virtual felt.
PokerStars.com will be choosing its All Star Team from winners of 2008 Sunday Million tournaments, WCOOP final tablists, tournament Leaderboard winners and those who have achieved the status of Supernova Elite. However, there are still seats open for those of us who haven’t been so proficient to fit into any of these categories. PokerStars is currently hosting a series of special $11 All Star Week Qualifiers, awarding spots on the PokerStars All Star Team.
All Star Week will consist of several heads-up competitions each day, from March 23rd through the 29th. Every victory is worth $1,000, plus a point to the team who won the match. Each time Team PokerStars Pros wins a match, the $1,000 prize will be donated to a charity chosen by the team Captain Victor Ramdin.
To make All Star Week more interesting for everyone, not just participating team members, PokerStars has added in a special All Star Week competition that everyone can take part in, called Fan Tournaments. 100 points are required to enter a Fan Tournament. Every player who enters will be asked to pick who they think will win the current All Star Week tournament. A correct pick adds another $1,000 to the Fan Tournament prize pool.
